Read it at the lens. Record it in one take.

Eyeline floats your script over your live camera, scrolls it at the words per minute you choose, and records the take right there. No account, no upload: every take stays on your device.

How it works

The rundown

Five steps, in the order a studio runs them.

  1. 01PASTEPaste your script. A blank line starts a new paragraph, and each paragraph becomes a mark on the scrubber.—
  2. 02FRAMETurn on the camera. Drag the script box up near the lens and resize it so your eyes barely move.drag
  3. 03SLATEPress Record. The slate counts 3-2-1 and claps; recording and scrolling start on the clap.Record
  4. 04READRead at the green eye-line. Nudge the speed if you're ahead or behind; drag the scrubber to jump back.Space ↑ ↓

The controls

Everything a prompter operator would do for you

Pace in words per minute

Set the speed the way presenters talk about it. Eyeline works out the scroll from your text size, so the pace holds when you change it.

Before a rider leaves, we call the customer and get a landmark a rider can see. Before a rider leaves, we call the customer and get a landmark a rider can see.

A slate that starts the take

Three, two, one, clap. The clap is the moment recording and scrolling start together, the same way a slate marks sync on a film set.

Mirror for teleprompter glass

Using a beam-splitter rig? Flip the script so it reads correctly in the glass.

Read it at the lens.

A box you can move to the lens

Drag the script box up next to your camera and size it so your eyes barely travel. A green eye-line shows where to read.

Float it over your call

In Chrome and Edge, pop the script into a small window that stays on top of Zoom, Meet or OBS.

Takes stay on your device

Recording runs in the browser. Takes list with their length and size; download the keepers.

Privacy

Your camera never leaves the room.

Eyeline has no video server. The browser asks for your camera, records with its own recorder, and holds each take in memory until you download it. Your script and settings are saved in your browser, on this device only.

The camera needs a secure page, so open Eyeline at its https address. Phones work too.

Questions

Before your first take

Is Eyeline free?

Yes. There's no account and nothing to install. Open it and press Record.

Do my videos get uploaded?

No. Recording happens inside your browser, and each take is kept in that tab until you download it. Eyeline has no server that stores video, so close the tab and unsaved takes are gone.

What file do I get?

Whatever your browser records best: MP4 in Safari, WebM in Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Both play in common editors; convert WebM to MP4 if your editor asks for it.

How fast should I read?

Many presenters land somewhere around 130 to 160 words per minute. Eyeline starts at 140; do one take, then move the speed until you stop chasing the text.

Can I use it with a teleprompter mirror?

Yes. Turn on Mirror text for glass and the script is flipped so it reads correctly in a beam-splitter teleprompter.

Why won't the floating window open?

The always-on-top window uses a browser feature that only Chrome and Edge on computers have today. Everywhere else, read from the script box on the camera view.

Ready when you are.

Paste your script, frame your shot, and let the slate count you in.
